Buffalo Philharmonic Education Programs

The BPO offers a wealth of educational programming for area schools and students. Opportunites include visiting artists/ensembles, guest conductors, lectures, educational concerts during the school day, and community nights to name a few. • 5/7/08 - Information regarding Community Night performances has now been released by the BPO. Download the information and performance application here.
• 3/13/08 - The BPO is once again hosting a Celebration of Music Education Weekend in cooperation with BOCES and ECMEA. You can learn more about this program by downloading the flier here.
• 12/9/07 - The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Volunteer Foundation and the Buffalo Chamber Music Society have again combined their application and audition process for their independent 2008 scholarships. The Volunteer Foundation “ Young Musicians” $3000, $2000 and $1000 scholarships, and the Chamber Music Society’s “Silverman” $1000 scholarships (up to three this year) are available for Erie and Niagara County high school seniors planning to major in music at any college or university in the fall of 2008. Applications for this year, including audition tapes, must be postmarked by Feb.9, 2008. Application forms may be downloaded here. For questions please call the Volunteer Foundation at 885-0204. The Buffalo Chamber Music Society shares scholarship application/auditions with the Volunteer Foundation hence the single application applies for both.
• 12/3/07 - Student tickets to any BPO Classics Concert are now only $5 with a student ID and coupon. Download a coupon here.
• 11/9/07 - Since the pre k-3rd concerts have been selling like wildfire, the BPO has decided to move the January 31 10:15 and 12:15 concerts and February 1 10:15 concert to the Main Stage of Kleinhans. This is a great chance for this age group to see the Philharmonic on the main stage. Download the updated concert flyer here.
